Why We Use Coda to Manage Our AI Instructions
Discover how Coda simplifies tool management and keeps AI assistants running like a well-oiled machine.

We all (most of us) love AI, but let’s be honest.
Getting precise prompts can be frustrating.
As brilliant as AI can be, it can also act really stupid.
I’m going to talk more about this in next week’s webinar, but the core component to an AI Assistant is tools.
Below is a snippet from our own Calvin AI.
As you can see, we have several custom ClickUp tools connected to our agent.
When you send a prompt, it makes a decision on which tool(s) it needs to use.
JUST LIKE A HUMAN EMPLOYEE.
Each tool does ONE thing (you can figure out what they do by the names).

Tool instructions tell the AI Agent what they are and how to use them.
JUST LIKE A HUMAN EMPLOYEE.
And just like a human employee, it can get “confused” if the instructions aren’t clear enough.
n8n offers a UI where you can click on each individual tool and edit the instructions manually, then save.
This can get really tedious.
So instead of storing the tool instructions in n8n, we actually use Coda to store and manage our tool instructions.

By using Coda:
It gives us a centralized place to store all of our instructions
We have VERSION HISTORY (which is huge)
We can “inject” data from other Coda tables into our instructions
You don’t have to login to n8n to change instructions.
I can’t wait to talk about this next week!
Don’t forget to sign up for our FREE webinar next week. It’s going to be epic and I PROMISE you’re going to learn more than you realize!
