AI is moving so fast that while we think about “I COULD use that” we don’t have time to think about “SHOULD we use that”. . .

One of the biggest areas I see this: AI video generation.

These products are popping up EVERYWHERE . . . and it’s just going to get worse.

While I’m clearly a big fan of AI for content generation, this makes me feel uneasy—and I’m not sure why.

Maybe because video was the last bastion of “original” content.

If you want to play with it, try out HeyGen (my Cool Thing of the Day). It’s an amazing product that takes your existing videos and generates 5-30 minute videos with a script.

They have a free tier to play with it . . . it’s one of many products that are going to set the stage for the next 5-10 years.

My thoughts:

• AI content is already glutting the text content across the Internet. Now it’s video’s turn to feed the snake that’s eating itself.

• Right now, people will say “that’s AI” video and move on. As more prominent influencers start using it, it’s going to become mainstream.

• I’m going to try it out for YouTube shorts — I think shorter content will be easier to consume and less perceptible as AI (I think)

Bottom line . . . it’s coming and there’s no way to stop it.

In two years (probably less), you won’t even know what’s AI generated video—which scares me a bit.
