I hate talking to lawyers and CPAs.

I don’t know if this is just my experience, but they talk to you like you are just as competent as them.

“You’re definitely gonna need to file a Form-18A and make sure you use the bilateral nomenclature in your primary classification.”

I’ve actually talked to lawyers about this exact issue and they (usually) get a kick out of it.

They live and breathe law so much that they forget what non-lawyers don’t know.

When I talk about an “AI assistant,” it can come across the same way.

I don’t like the term because it’s easy to conflate with an “executive assistant.”

To me that’s apples and oranges.

Honestly, I’d prefer the term “AI portal” . . . but I don’t get to choose.

So before deciding whether you need an AI assistant, you need to make sure you know what it is.

In essence, an AI assistant is ONE AI entry point to all your tools.

• It can search your data through APIs

• It can update your data

• It can send emails, Slack notifications, WhatsApp — basically any communication tool that has an API

• It can combine data across several tools

That’s why I prefer the term “AI portal,” because in reality, that single AI prompt textbox is a magical gateway to the entire world of your business.
