OpenAI is offering an amazing deal through the end of February.

If you OPT-IN to sharing your prompts and completions, you can get up to 10M tokens per day

“Get free usage of up to 1 million tokens per day across GPT-4o and o1, and up to 10 million tokens per day across GPT-4o-mini and o1-mini on traffic shared with OpenAI through February 28, 2025.”

How much is that? Not a ton of money—and you probably don’t use 1M tokens per day. But depending on your usage, it could save you $10-100+ in February.

You don’t have to share EVERYTHING . . . you can select specific projects.

CAVEAT: ChatGPT has a “Projects” option in the prompt UI. That feature is used for organizing your chats in the ChatGPT UI. The free tokens apply to Platform Projects, which is a different set of projects. Platform projects are used when you connect with an API key. There are tons of desktop apps, web sites that let you use ChatGPT with an API key.

Here’s what I would do:

• Create a project called “Shareable” or “Public” in OpenAI — give it a clear name so you know it’s being shared with OpenAI

• Go to this link and enable free tokens JUST FOR that project.

• Create an API key for that project with this link.

• For anything that is not proprietary to your business, use that API key.
